The audio cable got split in halves and I tried reattaching it ,using extra audio cable, even soldering but it didn't work.

it doesnt matter if it is multiple thread or single wire. first check which cable goes where, ie source/jack to end/earphone. some earphones have double layers with insulator, wires, then insulator, then another set of wires inside. check if this is the configuration. then proceed to solder individual lines. basic thing is one wire must connect to the other correctly. also check if the correct wires are soldered and not switched.

Is the cable made of one single wire or multiple metal threads? If it's multiple threads, soldering won't work because each thread has to be attached and an iron will just melt all of them into one big clump.

You need to clean the wire with acid and use flux and it should solder just fine.
