I'm not sure if I just have a tendencey to have broken veins in the back of my knees and thighs, or if the shoes I wear do it, or just being on my feet! They don't turn into spider veins, it just looks like the green of the vein is really noticible, like a map, and it hurts for a few days. I don't know, HELP I'm only 22!

It sounds like you have varicose veins. They can happen at any age especially if there is a family history of them. Being overweight or pregnant can also predispose a person to them. I have them and have had them since the birth of my first child when I was 24. I saw a specialist (can't remember what they're called) and he recommended support hose. Yep, old lady stockings. But they do work. Also make sure you don't wear anything constricting from the waist down (it can interfere with the blood circulation) and exercise. Walking is very good. Make sure you don't stand or sit for too long. You'll know how long is too long when you're legs hurt. Also, keep your feet elevated for about 10 minutes a few times a day when you can. This keeps the blood from pooling in the veins and making the problem worse. But do go to a doctor to make sure it is varicose veins. Only they can give you proper treatment.

There is a treatment for varicose and spider veins. I believe these treatments would be considered as an outpatient surgery. You would either have it done in Dr. office or in hospital and released same day. Also to improve circulation in your legs buy TED HOSE either Thigh high or Knee highs you can buy these in Walmart, Walgreen's, CVS etc they will be in leg aisle or pharmacy aisle.

the best thing is go to your primary doctor. have him do a ultrasound of you feet. there may be a little blockage there. Some foot drs. (podiatrist) do this procedure in their offices.

well you can start by just massaging your legs. this will get the blood to circulate through your legs more efficiently. thats probably why your legs hurt sometimes.
