Accra is cool but only if you like cities - it is great to retreat to if you have been out travelling and need to stock up on luxuries like haribo or tampax.
I took a train ride from Takoradi to Kumasi which took 15hours or something but the scenery was very beautiful and it was quite relaxing. I also really liked Cape Coast. I went the whole way up to Bolgatanga (where it is unbearably hot in March, by the way) and if I went back I would take a month just to be in Ghana to travel. The people are fantastic, friendly and helpful, and food is good and cheap, though Immodium is recommended...Life is good in Ghana, have fun!
