A month before you start school read for pleasure. Try reading 4-5 novels hopefully law related. This will get you used to all the reading you will have to do, and you will at least have fun doing it. Take a vacation just before you start. Make sure you get an apartment with a lot of light and be sure to join a study group.

Try getting in contact with your future classmates and see what they are doing.

Put everything else behind and dedicate yourself to law school. Simplify your living arrangements and commitments, law school will, and should if it's to pay off, consume you. Be prepared to do about 8 hours of reading a day. Do not procrastinate and study daily and come prepared to class. Your goals are: grades, law review (you apply end of first year), clerkship in the first summer (apply spring first year), internship at a firm in the second summer (apply fall second year). As you see, a lot depends on your first year grades. Even if you ultimately want to work for yourself or for a non-profit, work for those goals, you want your options open. Seond and third year, try and get into a clinical. If you know what you want to specialize in, try thosee electives. Alternate between fun classes and tedious but useful classes (taxes). Good luck. I found it fun and rewarding, however grueling.

You're going to be spending more time reading and studying than you thought possible, but don't forget to leave some time for yourself to just relax and have fun. If you don't want to joint a study group, I would highly recommend finding at least one other person to study with.
Just enjoy the experience.
