Strep infections are a pain, literally. Are you giving your "baby" the antibiotics exactly as prescribed IE, every 6 hours, even in the middle of the night? Are you finishing all of the meds? If so, talk to your Dr. about mono aka "the kissing disease". While kids are most likely to get this as teens it is not unheard of for younger ones. I hope this helps you!

Strep throat is highly contageous. It's likely your child is catching it from other kids at daycare/school. Make sure your child does not share any toothbrushes, cutlery, or dishes with anyone. Wash and disinfect things thoroughly.

I can't give you a positive answer because there are so many, many ways children can get strep. I was one of the unlucky children who had it often along with problems with drainage in my ears. (ears, nose, and throat are all connected) Finally after the doctors couldn't make them go down with medication they decided to take them out. Its a short and very painless surgery. Well, It was for me. Anyway, I'd check with your doctor and see what he/ she can do for you.

His tonsils may need to be removed. Ask your doctor about this. My older son who is now 15 had his tonsils out last year. Before he did, he constantly had throat infections. Now that he doesn't have his tonsils, he doesn't get sick as often. If the tonsils are constantly infected it's time for them to come out.
