Parts for a timing belt is cheap. It's always labor that's expensive when it comes to the timing belt. Estimate 3-4 hours of labor time to replace the timing belt by a professional.

So you're probably looking at about $250-$400 for labor costs.

The belt itself is like $30.

ive got a 2002 galant your looking at about 500 buck or a little less, your best bet go have the dealer do it,it is a very complex job..trust me i looked it up in the manual, and dont let it break, the timing belt is made of the same material as the belts,if it breaks,it damaged all the pistons and rocker arms,a total nightmare, have to dealership do it and warranty it.sorry, wonderful foreign cars
