Did you do any internships while in school? Look for entry level positions, ask the employer after they turn you down what type of experience they are looking for..don't forget an interview thank you note. Never burn a bridge..they call back later on!!

My little sister took a long time to get an HR position after graduation, but ended up getting one for less pay with the understanding it's a foot in the door thing..good luck.

Hope this helps :)

Apply anyway the worst they will do is turn you down. If a job wants 3 years exp. they are just looking for the best possible applicant. Many times they choose on without exp because that is all they can get for they pay that they are offering.
Good luck with your job search.

Try searching for entry level positions in your field.
If your school has a career center, many times they can help you find a position or give you pointers! Also, NETWORK! Talk to people in your field, find out the best ways to land a job, or the best companies to work for.
Highlight your abilities on your resume. Employers basically want you to market yourself. Granted you may not have as much experience, tell them what you bring to the table instead!
Internships are good to, if your lucky, you can find places that pay (siginificantly lower of course) interns. Most job search engines allow you to search for this as well.

Good Luck!!

Firstly, congrats on graduating!

Experience is something that most employers look for in new staff. However, they don't always expect exact experience, like HR experience for a HR job. You can start to build experience in other departments of the kinds of companies you want to work with, and that experience can later be transferred over to HR. It might take a bit of time, but you can do it!

I graduated with a degree in HR 15 years ago and found out in a hurry that a degree with out experience doesnt mean ****. HR in gereral is a very low paying job field. I got into sales and have been making double if not triple what the HR field would pay. My advice to you is look outside the HR field.

Do volunteering work in this field, or a (extra) traineeship or start as HR assistant. Or look for the requirements they ask for in job descriptions of jobs that you like and learn those skills in other jobs. For instance as team lead in a call centre, you might have to do interviews in that job. Good luck!

determine before interviewing what the interviewer is looking for. If you really want the job but don't have the experience, do some research.....and then make it up. all the great one's know this. very few employers are willing to take a risk on someone with no experience so you tell them what they want to hear and bada bing, you got yourself a job partner! getting the job is easy, the hard part is keeping it!

Really think about your job history, even volunteer jobs. Is there anything there that qualifies for the job as experience, that should be put on your resume. You need to know how to market yourself, make sure your resume does you justice, books in the library can help with that.

If an employer comes out and says that they only want someone experienced, say "if you hire me then I will be experienced, please try me for 3 months, if you are not satisfied you can terminate me".

Try going to a local temp agency. This way you can work in human resources at a job for a short period of time and thus gain the experience. I'm an associate of Adecco's www.adecco.com
