Because the entire world is tired of seeing the U.S. of A. kick A.
They will bring it back when the rest of the pathetic world catches up with the greatest women's softball on the planet!

They're taking baseball out of the Olympics too. The Olympic committee has rules that sports in the Olympics have to be popular on so many continents and they claim baseball and softball aren't international enough.
That's my guess as to why American football isn't in the Olympics either.
As to Yahoo - it seems as if there should be a softball category. Or at least label this one "baseball/softball." Maybe they only have categories for professional sports, though. I don't know of any professional softball leagues.

Like the other girls said, there aren't enough countries that play softball and even it there are, we would beat them because we've played longer.
I just don't understand it because ballroom dancing is now in the olympics?? that makes no since, i guess that is more of a sport then softball...
