the first time? I can't imagine anyone not being scared, at least a little, the first time having sex with another person.
now, if you're referring to anal intercourse, that's another issue. scary's not the right word. nervousness causing, sure. the fear it may hurt to receive anal? hopefully, the guy you'd be with would be patient, understanding (no one should top until he's bottomed. you must know what the other guy is going thru) and the passion will override the nerves (possibly make it more exciting)
Does it alway hurt? no. my first time did not hurt at all.

Most sexual encounters are scary the first time, even heterosexual ones. It is somethng you have never done before so it's natural to be scared.
