They don't deserve a pay raise, because the American people have to make them do their job, especially when it came to immigration. they make enough money. I think the voter should decide when they get a pay raise.

I think that since the other issue on the table was to increase the minimum wage, it is a crying shame that Congress will most likely get their pay raise while Americans will get dick!

yeah, this is like the fourth time they've done it in the last few years too. I don't think they are doing a good enough job to merit a pay raise. It's pretty sad that they can raise they're own wages, but the minimum wage isn't enough to take care of one person, let alone a family.

YEAH, GOOD ANSWER!!!!!!
And to add to that....they don't put in a 40 hour week, not even close.

"We the people are their employers, we pay their payroll. I did not authorize a pay increase, did you? They all should be evaluated just like we are to see if they deserve a raise. We are getting no raises, but now we have to pay them more money."

I do not believe it is a good idea because greed is always a problem with people. We as citizens do not get to vote on ourself receiving a raise why should anyone else? Not a good idea at all, they should allow the constituents vote on a pay raise for them.

Yeah, it sucks for us to watch, but if we can give ourselves a pay raise, I think I'd have enough to retire already. The problem? They're not doing their freaking jobs! They're dealing with taxpayers and the public. But in the end, with no conscience to speak of, I would do the same thing---given the chance.

I think it is a bunch of bulls--t. We should be the ones voting for them to have a raise. I am in law enforcement and haven't had a cost of living raise in 4 years and there talking about droping our 2 % cost of living raise for this year. So I think they can kiss my
a--!

It's stupid! They won't fix Social Security or come up with a new tax code, but they sure will give themselves a pay raise!
