A perfectly sensible question was asked earlier: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060614065441AA2fkgZ&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhDRXWacfo6hvwUm.2mOK4MlGFrQTwqd7TQ--#NbUvWzK.WTbZSIcfuoXh
My question is, don't you think that the nicest skin colour is just whatever your natural colour is plus just a little bit of evidence that you do get outside now and again?
I know a Brazilian girl who's mixed race, and she stays OUT of the sun to avoid getting a tan (for the record, she's absolutely gorgeous, but she lives in a racist culture, so...).
Other people slap on fake tans which, let's face it, don't look too nice - they're caught in exactly the same trap as my Brazilian friend, just the other way around.
My vote - lead an active life, and go au natural, whatever your skin colour!

By the way, to the pale red-head Celts out there - you look as cool as anyone else if you eat fruit and outdoor air has touched your face, sun or no sun! Go climb a hill on a bright but windy day then look in a mirror - you look HEALTHY and that is what people respond to. Same goes for the darkest of the dark - if it's your colour, it's hot!

Well, when I'm in fishy mode, I like being blue with yellow bits.
When I'm in human form I actually like having my 'English Rose' complexion, I'm quite pale but have rosy cheeks, I really do LOOK English, I had proof of that when I went to Spain, I'd worked really hard trying to learn some Spanish phrases so I could talk to the locals, but, they all just took one look at me and immediately started talking to me in English!!!!

I hate that orange fake tan with a passion, but I use a tinted moistureizer because I am as near as you can get to albino without red eyes, and hate being so pale. I get out in the sun a lot, but I burn incredibly easily so have to wear a lot of suncream, meaning I do not tan well. otherwise I agree, and tha question aske earlier WAS perfectly sensible, and racism is a digusting thing.

We play outside, but the whole family is always lathered in SPF 45. So, some people in my family still get a little darker, while me and my daughter stay pretty fair, with only a hint of sun. Really, I liked it back when I wasn't afraid of skin cancer, because I like the look of a nice tan, but I'm too fair for it.

I totally agree. Why go out of your way and risk skin damage to be tan? People should just be happy with the way they are and stop trying to look like others. White people are always trying to be darker, while people with naturally dark complexions are trying to stay lighter. I think you should just stick with your natural color. I wouldn't try to stay out of the sun and stay pale and I wouldn't try to stay in the sun to get tan. Too tan looks unnatural and so does too pale.

i wish people would let you go with your natural skin color. but with todays society the best way is the tan way. i wish it wasn't that case. people don't care about skin cancer and they will do whatever to get that tan. I'm white and i don't mind me being white but the rest of the society thinks otherwise.
