Yes, Bubblybubbles-

Various types of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's) are...er...transmitted during sex.

There are various types of STDs (AIDS, Herpes, Crabs, etc) and the risk of contracting them varies with the level of sex that you engage in. Condoms and other protection can reduce the risk of contracting an STD, but there will always be *some* risk. Wikipedia has a very good write-up on the subject.

Absolutely, yes! It may not happen 100% of the time, but chances are, if your partner has an STD, you will contract it if you have unprotected sex.

It's your body, your health, your life. You're worth it. Always use protection during sex (for unwanted pregnancy as well as STD prevention). In addition, I feel it's healthy to talk about sexual history with your partner, and for you both to get tested before sleeping together.

Sorry if this came across as a lecture...I do follow my own advice, though. :)

Sexually Transmitted Diseases are transferred for sexual contact. But some like herpes seeing there is different forms can be contracted through kissing or oral sex. AIDS or HIV can be contracted through blood. Crabs can be contracted off of bedding clothing and other surfaces. Always use protection but remember that condoms do not protect you against every STD. HIV and AIDS, herpes, crab, and genital warts can be contracted even though condoms are used. The best protection is abstinence. Make sure that if you are having sex have you and your partner get tested before deciding to have sex.

Are you kidding? STD stands for sexually transmitted disease, a disease that you get by having sex. If you don't know that, you're not ready to have sex.
