I have a big problem with this. I have always worked hard and hate that my money is going to lazy people. I think that the only way someone should get help is if they have a disablility. Not just people wanting to live on welfare and medicaid!!! All those that answer this question with "I am proud to be on Medicaid" --------------------GO GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on medicaid while PG and my daughter is still on medicaid. I worked for 7 years paying in my taxes and being a good citizen (even though there is no law saying I have to pay taxes!) and I have no problem living off of the gov't for the medicaid. I don't get any other help. I figure I'll never see the thousands of dollars that I paid in to SSI anyway. It doesn't really matter anyhow, the gov't is soon to collapse (there is no way it can continue in this vein and when the new ID card comes out I hope there will be revolt). I for one am not going to get chipped and I will move to Belize and live with friends before I let this gov't control me.
I love America. She is the most maginificent country on Earth, BUT the gov't is killing her and our freedoms.

First, government welfare is wrong, legally and morally. It basically encourages the bad decisions that let people not be responsible for the consequences of their bad decisions.
Nowadays, a pregnant girl can get an abortion, or get the government to give them money. Thus, negating the negative consequences of a bad decision. When they did not have these options, there was a greater incentive to not make the bad decision to have casual sex, and a greater incentive to require marriage before having sex.
Get the government out of the charity business. It has no constitutional authority for this lavish waste of the peoples' monies.
Let it be handled by private charity, like it once was.
Give the bleeding hearts a chance to put their money where their loud mouths are.

no it is not fair, but we live in a very liberal country where some girls just dont have anything better to do than get pregnant when they know that they can not provide for the baby, i mean with all the protection they can use come on!!!! But we can not forget the fact that some of them are pregnant because they have been raped. OK why not help those girls only, help those that really need help, not the girls who actually chose that type of life ( though i will feel sorry for their offspring and who knows who is telling the truth)

I honestly think that sometimes welfare is being taken advantage of by most people. There should be a limit on how much will actually be paid for and what is covered. I know people like that too who used it to their advantage. I think we should stop helping out those kind of people. We need to figure out some way to put a limit on who can get it and who can't. Like for example..my husband's mother lived on welfare with her 13 brothers and sisters.. that's understandable..and back then it wasn't easy to get things like birth control. Maybe to stop this whole issue we should take the money we would pay single teenager mothers and start giving out birth control at high schools or make it a requirement to help girls get on birth control at certain ages. If Americans aren't smart enough to help themselves then the goverment should take preventive measures.

Teen pregnancy, along with out of wedlock births is/should be a concern for any society.
I'm sometimes baffled by the fact that so many girls/women become pregnant(oops a mistake, as they say)when there is so much educational information on/about birth control, sexual transmitted diseases, etc..
Anyone can walk into a local health department and ask for birth control, and recv it...without parents consent.
I do not want to place all the blame on the women, boys/men have to accept responsibility for their lives, just as much as the girls/woman do.
I can handle anyone having one UN-planned pregnancy..esp..a teen, but when they continue to get pregnant, knowing they can not support the child, and are not mentally, financially able to handle the responsibility of caring for and raising a child..that is upsetting.
I do not believe in rewarding bad behavior.
Abstinence..is best..wait until your married..or least be mature enough to use birth control/protection.

LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT WELFARE IS LIKE 2% OF THE WHOLE NATIONAL BUDGET, SO WHY DON'T YOU WORRY BOUT WHY YOU PAY SO MUCH OF YOUR MONEY TO POLITICIANS!!!
WELFARE DOESN'T GIVE ANYONE ENOUGH TO SURVIVE. FOOD STAMPS HELP BUT MOST OF THE TIME YOU HAVE TO COME UP WITH CASH AS WELL.
WELFARE ONLY GIVES YOU TANF FOR 3 MONTHS AND REQUIRES YOU TO FIND WORK OR BE DOING 40 HOURS OF JOB SEARCHING A WEEK FOR THEIR MEASLY LITTLE TANF CHECKS AND THEY CALL THAT YOUR PAY.
SORRY IF IM NOT GONNA SIT AT THE WORKFORCE 160 HOURS A MONTH FOR A MEASLEY LITTLE 300 DOLLARS. CAN ANYONE EVEN SURVIVE ON THAT? REALLY??? AND YOU HAVE TO PUT GAS IN YOUR TANK FOR THAT 20 TRIPS TO THE WORKFORCE AT 3 DOLLARS A GALLON OF GAS.
PEOPLE NEED TO STOP THINKING THEIR TAX DOLLARS GO TO WELFARE RECIPIENTS, STUDY SOME ECONOMICS AND FIND OUT WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES FIRST AND GIVE THOSE ON WELFARE A BREAK.
SOMETIMES THERE ARE REASONS WE HAVE TROUBLE GETTING WORK LIKE LACK OF DAYCARE HELP. IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE TO PAY FOR DAYCARE THAN MOST OF US MAKE. aND IT'S HARD TO GET HELP.
ALSO LAY SOME OF THE BLAME ON MEN WE WEREN'T ALL ARTIFICIALLY INSEMENATED

It is good that our government helps those who need it. I think it needs to be changed though because only the people with no jobs get help. Working families that are struggling and make just over the income level they decided on are not getting any help what so ever. we are struggling and the only way to get help is to move into a box. Then we can have what ever we want. Doing it the honest way we starve and our lights get turned off because we make too much. So they say.

i think ,you all should stop jumping in the bed or whatever with these so -called girls/women and i do think the government should stop rewarding these so called humans, the guys see it as a booty call and no responsibility for their poor kids,if we all don t begin to have more MORALS this will keep going on from generation to generation,so stop and think,i would rather do a hand job, than let this slob be the mother of my son or daughter, for they have the right to a good and decent life, not wondering who my daddy is,and will she get a check from that nasty old goverment? cause they will blame their mother and whoever was the father and the other kids in the house cause they will have different no name dads too.so,stop i agree using our taxes for the results of a continuous booty-call.it starts with both saying no,and i want ,i need ,i demand protection, cause i don t want a child, and i want to live and not have disease, because of you and your lifestyle,i have a dream for me first and then mine, whats life worth without a hard won dream?huh??????????????

The govn't should get out of the social welfare business.
When the govn't pays money to any group of people, then more people will want to get 'free' money and therefore 'join' the group.
If a girl can't take care of the baby (ie abuse / neglect), give that baby to someone else, - and make it legal.
Pay folks for being left handed, - and 10 years later we'd have twice as many left handed people. Amazing!!!!
Pay people for being pregnant.....
