My favourite author is Brian Jacques, and my most enjoyed book by him is 'Triss', a story of a young squirrelmaid out to wreak vengeance on the beasts that enslaved all meek animals. You should read it, it's really intriguing.

I like Anya Seton. She wrote historical romances in the classic sense of the word. Her books aren't bodice rippers, they are epic sagas of love and adventure.

Her best is "Katherine," based on the true story of a 30-year love affair between an English prince and the commoner he was in love with and couldn't marry. But I've also liked her "Devil Water," "Avalon," "Dragonwyck" and "Green Darkness."
