The word is Liebchen, and it refers to a loved one. It is often used to refer to a child, as well.

Liebchen is the correct spelling. It is German and means sweetheart or darling.

That *sounds* like a German word (which I cannot spell since I do not know German :-) which I've always taken to mean "little one" or "child", but that was always from context. For all I know, that is totally not what it means heh
