Taiwan should absolutely remain pro-independent and pro-democratic.

If you are referring to the recent scandal involving the prez's son-in-law, well.. he deserves jail time, but Chen did nothing wrong himself.

United States of America is a friend and is also a sworn protector should Taiwan come under a situation of war. China says Taiwan belongs to them and should a war arise it will be USA whom will have to help. This type of war will be a cost USA has yet to know. China has a huge army compared to the USA and on tech wise, China is not to far away in comparison to the USA. This is a no win situation and USA has the greatest to loose either way.

Till now I still can't figure out how is it that a person like Chen Shui Bian can be elected president. Basically when a politician put his political career above the "country" and party, everyone is gonna suffer. My only hope will be for Ma Ying Jiu to be the next president. Only then can there be peace in Taiwan, with China and for the entire world.
