Who will replace Castro after he dies?

I used to say that the only reason the U.S. has not normalized relations with Cuba after all these years is, that Cuba has no oil. The recent discovery of oil off the North Coast of Cuba will put an entirely different slant of U.S./Cuba relations.

Remember, it was the OIL COMPANIES that pushed for and got the U.S. Gubbernment to normalize relations with frigging' VIET NAM, do you really think they won't yank the chains of their very well paid for politicians to get at the oil now being drilled for off Cuba by China and Venezuela companies and money.

Post Castro Cuba may still be communistic... but it will be in a VERY capitalistic way. For one thing, once Castro is gone, the American people (who are the only ones in the world who can't go to Cube for a vacation) will be pushing for things to return to pre-Castro ways.... gambling, prostitution, vice of every sort and BIG, BIG MONEY changing hands.

Some things have already changed as there is a container ship that goes between Corpus Christi, TX and Havana every week with another container ship coming the other way. This started in January but most Americans don't know about it.

I don't think communism is likely to fall- Castro's son is next in line and set to take the throne after Fidel dies.

Sure! Just before the whole place sinks into the sea! Remember brother Raul Castro is still alive and still in the "picture". And don't forget about the sympathetic communists in Venezuela.

I highly doubt it. Castro is powerful and has many loyal followers that will keep communism going. It will take EU or UN intervention if you ever want communism in Cuba to end.

Personally, I think it will. Castro has tried very hard to create the ideal Communist society. However, this ideology goes again basic human nature. I think his son won't measure up. Most don't.
