I found a small bump on the shaft of my penis two years ago, but I have never been with anyone. Then a week ago, after watching a TV show, I grew paranoid that maybe I had genital herpes. I don't recall having any symptoms, like cold sores anywhere on my penis. I've had genital itching from time to time. I've masturbated, but that's about it. Am I being really paranoid? SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE.

You would have had to contracted the herpes from an outside source. Since you have not had sex (and I am assuming that includes ORAL SEX), then I can't see how you would have it. Do you get cold sores?
I think you probably have something simple like an allergic reaction to laundry detergent or something. Be sure when you masterbate you use something like KY Jelly that won't cause an allergic reaction. A scented lotion or something similar could cause irritation in an already sensitive area.

I got diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 7 years back, while I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand loads of girls will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/gXEt4 everything got better.
Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a packed cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This system provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

No,no you can not. You get herpes from an infected partner that already had the herpes virus. It is a shame the stories I hear,my sister's ex-husband said he had no std's,not even herpes. Then one day-not even 3 months after they were together....,she got really sore and went to the doctor---guess what?--HERPES!! She felt so betrayed!! Then to top it off she found an old prescrition bottle of HIS for herpes medication tucked at the back of his sock drawer!!!!!!!!!!! What a liar, huh????? Now she is infected for life and has to take medicine for life and be in pain for ever unless they find a cure someday. All I can say is becareful.Always use condoms.Never trust someone's word--go get their blood tested with them or forget it!!good luck!8/31/09.

I dont think you can get genital herpes by masturbating only, the virus (as far as i know) has to be contained in liquids such as saliva or those from the vagina, so it passes on to you. Anyway I really think you should go to see a doctor, an urologist, and it would be good if you have your hands as clean as possible when masturbating.

Since I assume it's gone, don't worry about it! You can't get herpes from masturbating! Any unusual bump should be checked out if you have any doubt and if it sticks around...otherwise, not to worry! Just keep jacking off dude, it's the safest sex you can have!

There is no way you could have genital herpes if you've never come in contact with the virus through intercourse or oral sex with someone who has a herpy on the lip or mouth...Quit worrying
