Oddly enough "crime against nature" isn't explicitly defined by state law in North Carolina. According to precedent, it is basically any form of intercourse other than vaginal, including beastiality, anal sex, fellatio, and cunnilingus. I imagine the sollicit part is clear.

It's basically a blanket morality offense. He got caught hiring someone for a sexual act that wasn't straight forward homosexual intercourse. It's basically freebie charge they threw in. "Crime against nature" is often how the law refers to anal sex, but could mean anything. In this case I suspect it likely refers to oral sex. Given the lack of other charges most likely he offered to pay an undercover cop for a BJ. (If it involved an under aged person, or an animal there would be additional charges.)

I think it is something to do with having sex with animals. Or its either having to do with having sex with the same sex.
