Yes, every state should require a person to wear a helmet. If they are not smart enough to just put one on then they should be told to. Seatbelt law should also be required in every state for everyone's safety. People do not believe these are for their safety, but they really are. Ask a paramedic what they think after seeing so many horrible accidents that could have been avoided if only someone was wearing a seatbelt or a helmet.

I think there should be laws in every state for the wearing a helmet when riding a motorcycle and also for wearing seat belts.
I am a nurse, and I have seen what happens first hand when someone does not use these safety devices. Why would you want to take the chance??? Some people have the mentality of a defiant teenager......" Who do they think they are telling me what to do?"....Blaa Blaa Blaa....... Get over it......wear the belt and the helmet.......maybe they'll grow up to be someone important someday. That's why we need these laws.
Also, I am a BIG advocate for car seats for kids.......the way I look at it......If you don't put your baby/child in a car seat......you don't love your child. It's just that simple.

I feel this way. If you feel you shouldn't wear a helmet or seatbelt, I feel insurance companies shouldn't have to pay for your injuries when you do get hurt becuase of not doing should things. If you're not smart enough to take care of yourself then the only person who should have to pay for it is you. But since insurance companies do pay for people's mistakes then the government should have a say in what you can and can't do on the roads that the government provides for us to use. It's also a good way for insurance companies to protect themselves and people who have to pay higher premuims because of person's choice.

It's cheaper to put a cap on major injury than pay benefits for a death in a car accident. It's all been lobbied by big business insurance companies.

When it comes down to the seatbelt law, it's a win win for insurance companies and the state to fine you for not wearing them. People don't go to the polls to vote against it, thus it gets indicted into the law. We really need to take our government back.

i do not trust they should be required, besides the indisputable fact that that's possibly prudent to placed on one, because they're typically useful once you fall off. for sure a helmet could also help in case you fall in the bathe. i trust that the reason they're required in some states is the coverage agencies have lobbied problematical to mitigate the damages brought about through their shoppers, be they errant drivers or motorcyclists To my suggestions if some thing is going to be required it will be some thing to stay away from a crash, inclusive of eye probability-free practices. A pebble to the interest ought to incredibly placed a rider down. besides the indisputable fact that, in fog eye probability-free practices will be that is own chance. How about this... enable's leave people loose to ascertain a thanks to equip themselves a thanks to act of their own wonderful activity.

Yes,
I ride a 2003 gsxr 1000 and feel that helmets are necessary part of the sport. As are seat belts and car seats for children.

It is called responsibility to arrive and stay alive. You don't have to think of you yourself, think of your family and Friends who have to visit you in the hospital, push you in a wheelchair, or wipe the drool from your mouth as they feed you mushy foods for life and change your diapers, or worse have to bury you.

It's the people we leave behind that matter.

It should be choice. I don't think the goverment should get involved with this type of thing if I want to die that should be up to me.
