It's ok but it all depends on what kind of games you are playing. Your graphics card would be ok with 250mb but what does it connect to... ei. PCI, AGP or PCI express. Also what's the clockspeed on your processor, and how powerful is you RAM. You should be good to play games, but i don't think you'll be ok for High-end games, unless you turn down all the graphics settings on the game.

Here's the specs on my crappy *** desktop
Celeron Processor at 2.8ghz
512mb Geforce 6200 (PCI)
1GB RAM PC3200, 400mhz
80 GB HDD

and it's good for some games but not for high end games. I try to play City of Villains on it and i gotta turn down all the graphics settings and it still sucks, my laptop has more *** to it than this piece of crap
My Laptop Specs
AMD Athalon 64-bit 3400+
1 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9800
80 GB HDD

and i can play City of Villains without having to sacrifice graphics or performance

My veredict homeboy, is to upgrade your graphics card maybe get a better PC for high end games.

No. If you want to play games like FEAR and GRAW, you could run them at low settings but you lack support for HDR and shader model 3.0. You CAN play them but I do reccomend a graphics upgrade before you do. Get at least a Geforce 6800 series and you'll be all set. For those that are saying the FX5500 is good, no, it's not. It's dirt slow and gets a score under 1500 in 3Dmark03 so it's no good. A Geforce FX5500 does not "rock the casbah", it's something I would toss in the trash (or sell on eBay).

But note my perspective:

AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+
2GB of PC3200 memory
two 160GB Western Digital hard drives
dual Geforce 7600GS graphics cards with SLi enabled
Creative X-Fi sound card
Logitech X-530 speakers
and so on and so forth

Nothing less if you are SERIOUS about gaming.

I personally have a GeForce 5500 in my PC. It is utterly terrible for gaming, although it does have 256 MB or video memory. The graphics were (and still are) very laggy. In my laptop, i have an ATI video card, the X600, with 256 memory. This works fantastic. If I were you, definitely upgrade.

I would say definately yes, especially with a video card that has 250 MB of RAM.

Sounds like a good start. My experience is that some games are fussy with video cards. One game might scream on the Nvidia card, while others would choke, wanting an ATI driving the display, and vice versa. I like games myself, so I wouldn't mind having what you got to start off.

Oh yeah...I'd say so. Check out the stats for a Dell XPS Gen4. I have that with a DVD player (a must nowadays for gaming) and that thing screams.
Compare with yours. I think you'll find it'll be on equal footing.

sounds good man!! unless you got a 1 GB hard drive! LOL and of course for a real time gaming computer you need a good sound system! like a home theatre! LOL and of course a HD wide flat monitor for visual entertainment! but your stat is pretty good!

It should be ok...however, I would like to know how you came up with 1250 megs of ram??? Your video card is the only issue with your setup...it will work but you will not be able to max the video.

You gave all the right information: processor speed, memory, and video card. Good job.

That computer should rock the casbah for gaming.
