The depo shot is a pretty secure method., now you should know that most probably you will not have a period anymore and that will not mean that you are not pregnant, simply a side effect of the depo shot... Also, once you are ready to conceive, it may take you up to "18" months later after your last shot to actually come out pregnant. Another thing is that you should really do research about the depo as it was linked with osteoporosis which is a bone disease. It is claimed that you are at a higher risk if taken of more than two years. Go online to depo shot side effects and just be aware of the things that could happen . . . better safe than sorry...

i was on the depo for 2 yrs (since I was 15) for the first two weeks you shouldnt have unprotected or protected sex because the hormone has to set in your body after that dont worry its cool to have unprotected sex. Just make sure you dont miss a shot because then you could have to wait another month to get your period and the shot that sucks. But good luck. I didnt like the depo too much problems your doctors dont tell you about!? any question holla im good at that!? Sheila_rodriguez06@yahoo.com

there is no 100% way not to get pregnant except to stop having sex but i can tell you that i have been on depo for about 6 months and i have not gotten pregnant yet and my husband and i have sex all the time i was also on the shot before i had my son and when i got off my shot it took me 14 months to get pregnant because once you stop depo it can take 6-12 months to begin to ovulate again

I got pregnant with my oldest son off the depo shot. I know one thing though I will never get it again. I had a huge bruise on my butt and I bled for more than a month and had to take iron pills. Its not 100% effective and in my case it wasn't effective at all.

The shot is one of the most effective reversible methods of birth control. Of every 1,000 women who use it correctly and consistently, only three will become pregnant during the first year of use. Three in 100 women will become pregnant with typical use.
There is always a possibility of becoming pregnant with any form of birthcontrol, as none of them are 100% with the exception of abstinence.

Why are yo so afraid of getting pregnant? Aren't you married that's one reason why you should have children. You need to face why your so scared of having children and address that first.
but, yes you can get pregnant on any birth control there only 99.99999% effective. If your truly stuck on not getting pregnant keep practicing safe sex. Why with your husband? another issue

Nothing is 100%! It isn't likely you'll get pregnant, but the possibility does exist. Your doctor should have explained this to you before giving you the shot.

if you don't want to get pregnant for 6 years ask your doc about putting in an IUD it is effective for 6 years and you don't have the side effects associated with the shot

HA! There is no sure thing, although the shot is pretty effective just DON'T hesitate to get the next one. It's very effective if you keep on schedule (just like anything else).
Btw, not letting him go inside you is very insulting toward your man.
