Are clouds red in color at night? They normally appear dark to me.
Red, orange and pink clouds occur almost entirely at sunrise/sunset and are the result of the scattering of sunlight by the atmosphere itself.
Rainclouds would tend towards grey and black.

The clouds are red because it is lower and all the lights from the streetlamps and houses and cities are reflecting off it, giving that reddish hue.

light is reflected at different angles and different intensities and smog will change the color of clouds based on these things...
