I was two days late for my period and then I began bleeding bright red blood with no cramps. My periods are never late, are usually dark red with really bad cramps. This period is really light ( I don't feel a pad within a 5-10 hour period but when I wipe with tp there is a lot on it. Me and my husband have been ttc for about 6 months now. What is this?

There can be alot of different answers for this problem. Many women(dependant on your age) have a sudden change in cycle. When I was younger I never had cramps and it was always 5 days...now I have it only 2- 2 1/2 days and shart cramps. Also it could be implation bleeding although usually it is very light pink to light brown(color of dryed blood) But I had a friend in high school that had her period..she said was normal to her...for the first 5 mths of her pregnancy. I would take a pregnancy test just in case and it negative...make note of all your symptoms and chart your next period(if it comes) then make a call/appointment with your Gyno. Hope some of this could help you.

If it's lighter than usual and shorter than usual it could be implantaion bleeding....which is where the embryo implants on your uterus. I would wait for the bleeding to stop then take a pregnancy test to be sure. Also try one of these sites....they help track your ovulation so you know which times is best to TTC.

This one is an ovulation calculator:

This one is a calendar which will tell you your feritle days and ovulation day....make sure and put in accurate information:

This is my standard answer, but it's true. Go to the store or library and get a book called " Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. This book made all the difference to me and my husband. It will guide you through all the myths and false information and even help you work through questions like the one you just asked. It will help you chart your month and figure out EXACTLY when you are fertile or not and no more myths or guessing. It's not just about getting pregnant. It's about taking control and knowing your body.
