I never see any blacks on the slopes in Colorado or the Sierra Nevada. Is it too cold for them or too expensive? What's the deal?

The scientific answer is that it's too cold for them. African Americans and anyone of darker pigmented skin (and often longer limbs) actually loose heat faster than those with lighter pigmented skin, hence Norweigens etc. (being lighter-skinned) are better suited to deal with the cold, which is why they developed lighter skin in more mountainous and colder regions over the last few thousand years. Of course some of this may be due to the region you are in, which may be more heavily caucasian in nature to begin with. We are seeing more diveristy out here in the east coast, thanks to organizations like Youth Enrichment Services, which brings the sport to those who would not ordinarilly be exposed to it.

well these places you mentioned are classically bigoted would you go to the hood to listen to an concert i it is classically bigoted I think not it isn't too expensive I live in Chicago we ski all the time and we hear all the remarks all the time

Lol... im black and i hate skiing!!! not too cold (i live in minnesota) not too expensive either, i just dont like the sport. I know plenty of black here that enjoy skiing and go all of the time, so im not sure why you dont see any in your state.

because there are better things out there than skiing. its a white sport. we don't like hurting ourselves, its dumb.
