Chris had recently deceded not to front the band "Fuel". He stated in an interview that he would focus on his solo career when the American Idol Tour '06 wraps up this summer.
The following is an article from PEOPLE MAGAZINE....
American Idol favorite Chris Daughtry has declined an offer to become the lead singer for the multiplatinum rock band Fuel, he said.
"I'm going to be doing my own thing," Daughtry, a 26-year-old from McLeansville, N.C., told The Charlotte Observer on Saturday.
The band had offered Daughtry the job only hours after his elimination from the FOX show last month. Bass player Jeff Abercrombie and guitarist Carl Bell told the TV show Extra that Daughtry was invited to replace singer Brett Scallions, who quit in February.
Daughtry said he expects to announce his next career move in a few months, most likely after this summer's American Idol concert tour ends.
He told The Charlotte Observer he'd met with entertainment executives last week in New York and seen a Pearl Jam concert.
Shortly after being voted off Idol, Daughtry told PEOPLE about the offer from Fuel, "They're good friends of mine, and right now I'm just thinking everything through and making sure that I make the right decision for me and my family. Those things take time."

Chris was just in North Carolina last week for a local concert. He did not make any official announcements as to what he would be doing, but he said when he is ready, it will be his own thing. He did say that he turned down the offer to be lead singer of Fuel. Sounds to me like he is planning a solo cd, but I have no idea when it will be out.

I'm not sure what his plans are, but I did hear that he was invited to be the lead singer for Fuel...... and he turned it down! He said he wants to do his own solo thing. What an idiot. Yes he has talent, but so do alot of people who never make it. He's a perfect example of how his ego is way too inflated. He'll fade away in due time.
