Test on three subjects physics, Chemistry & Biology are to be conducted simultaneously, the number of candidates for the tests are 68,36 & 72 respectively. Candidates are to be seated in different rooms such that each room will have candidates of the same subject and the load on each invigilator be the same i.e. the number of candidates in each room should be the same what is the minimum number of rooms you need for the purposes.

assuming "inviglator" means "proctor" and that there are the same number of "inviglators" in each room (neither of which is stated). Then the number of candidates per room is the same as the greatest common factor of 68, 36, and 72. which is 4 (68 = 4*17, 36=4*9, 72=8*9). Thus the number of rooms is:

(68+36+72)/4 = 17+9+18 = >>>>> 44 <<<<<
