well...if you're cute some older boys are going to try to have sex with you...don't, because they don't want to stay with you, they just want a warm place to put it. The courses are easy and usually most of the teachers are pretty laid back. Nobody really puts ex-lax in the salad dressing or spits in the salad so no worries, you can eat the food and after a while...its not that bad anymore. If you can choose only one club join FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Usually it's 10 dollars but it's well worth it, you don't do anything in the club but it looks good on your resume anyway. Take all the computer classes possible because they're the one's that actually get you anywhere in life. Don't spread rumors and watch every single move that you make because if you dont, someone will spread a rumor about you. Be neutral, don't ditch friends because they're not cool enough and don't only try to be in with the in crowd, the "popular" kids won't be there when you need them. Just be friends with everyone and by junior year, you'll be the most liked kid in school and you won't even realize you did it. Try out for a team and if youdon't make it the first year, try again the next... Have fun and always put your classes first!!!

First of all, if there is an orientation day, attend it! At our school, it is led by Juniors and Seniors who get to know a small group of freshmen, take them on a tour of the school, hand out important "tips for success" decided on by the students, and the freshmen also get their schedules. Its a great day for the freshman, they get to know at least 9 other people fairly well for the first day of school. Plus, then they have a junior or senior that they know they can go to throughout the year for advice.

Second, get involved with at least one club or activity. There are all kinds, so you should be able to find one that interests you. If for some reason you don't see one that suits you, start it yourself!

Third, stay on top of your homework. My freshmen's biggest complaint this last year was the amount of homework. They just weren't used to it. It actually wasn't an overwhelming amount if they did a little every day, but they were used to junior high, where they could do it all at the last minute, and be okay. You can't do that in highschool, so get in the habit EARLY of starting your homework the day it is assigned, instead of waiting until the night before its due.

Fourth, SMILE! :) Smiling is contagious. People are drawn to those who smile.

You'll be just fine. Good luck! :)

It's normal to be nervous; I was. I started High School in a completely different town than where I went to grammar and jr high, so I didn't even see familiar faces at all. You might at least see a familiar face from jr high and say hat person wouldn't hang out with you in that school, but is also now going through the same feelings, but might not show it and now will hang out with you because ur a familiar face too. get through it together.
I wouldn't want to do the first day again for all the money in the world, but as time goes on it will get better.

Don't worry about it. That day comes and goes! I remember being sooo scared too. But think of it this way, you are not the only person in that same situation! There is a whole class that is feeling the same as you. Once you get through that day its actully fun and nothing to be scared about. Don't worry yourself the whole summer over school. Enjoy the summer and have fun!

High School isn't all it's cracked up to be. It mostly depends on how big and how many people go the school. Just be nice to everyone, don't get on the upperclassmen. Even if you don't annoy them they're still gonna think less of you, but that's okay. They were freshmen once. Do your homework try to get on the teachers' good side and pray. Good Luck.

Just concentrate on your school work and get involved in clubs. Make sure that you take enough math, science, and foreign language in high school to get into college. Though you might not like these courses they are important to your future and help you get into college. Be active in sports and clubs. Stay out of trouble and have fun!

Good luck

Join lots of clubs, keep up with the homework pace, ask lots of questions and make new friends. Be a nice person and don't mess with anyone. And be yourself.
