mercury can seep into the childs skin and cause brain damage. Ever heard the phrase "mad hatter" ? the reason hatters were considered mad was because of the fact that they actually had gone crazy from working with mercury so much (Hats used to be made out felt and in order to make it stiff it was soaked in mercury) also it can cause mercury poisoning
