summer vacation?

where's a good and fun place to go on vaca in ny or nj with 2 kids ages 8 & 2 ?? preferably a beach locale ?

Ocean City, New Jersey. It has a nice beach and fun boardwalk. It is such a family-oriented town. Lots of children with parents, grandparents, and extended families. Not too far away is the Cape May County Zoo. It's a nice zoo that I always loved to visit.

Wildwood Crest, NJ, especially with young kids. Big wide beaches, boardwalk, family-oriented. Plus if you can get a baby sitter you can go for a nice romantic dinner in Cape May, which is very close!
