35-40. When a woman's egg quality is reduced.
(Quoted) There is a slow decline in pregnancy rates in the early 30's. This decline is more substantial in the late 30's and early 40's. Few women over 45 are still fertile.
Miscarriage rates also increase substantially as the mother ages (more on miscarriage below).
One important caveat is that the above numbers apply to populations, not individuals. A given woman can have rapid decline in egg quantity and quality at an early age - even in her teens or twenties in rare cases.

Keeping the physical health of the baby in mind, then 40-45 is the max. The older the woman, the more likely it is to transfer problem issues to the baby. For the baby's mental health, i'd say it's in the same range. Add things up...if you figure how old you'll be for the child's graduation from high school/college, wedding, your own grandchildren...you might change your mind about starting so late. It is hard to have a healthy parent/child relationship when there is too big of a generation-gap between you.

what is your concern in this matter? do you feel that there is a time coming that you will cross a line and there is a "have no kids" rule?
What about fostering children? What about adopting children through the departemnt of children and families?
There are so many children right now in some sort of shelter feeling unwanted. What an assinine approach to the matter of how old is too old to have kids! Are you ready now to have kids and how do you want to have them and what kind of person are you that if you have kids will either bless or curse this world for what you have been a part of or not with what is the future of our whole society at large.
If you are able to love and participate in a child's life, you are old enough to have kids. If you are able to teach a child to love themselves dearly and see themselves as precious, regardless of who was the genetic donor to this child's make-up..you are ready to have kids.

For a woman to actually give birth during ages 45+ there are risk factors to consider, but as far as having/adopting kids, given that many grandparents/elderly foster parents raise their grandchildren/foster children, too old should only be determined by the health and financial status of the grandparents/foster parents.

I think for men and woman its about 40. Think of the Life Expectancy of people in the US. Its about 70 years. So I think you should consider whether or not you want you're kids to live without you for the better half of their lives or not. I'm 25 and I want to have kids before i'm 33 so they have at least a good solid 40 years (hopefully) with me.

When you can't have them. IE, hit menopause. You run out of eggs. Etc. I've heard of women getting pregnant and having a baby in their 60's I wouldn't recommend it, but it has happened. But it's really how you feel about it. No 30 isn't too old. That's about when I want to have my first.
