because of he has this cool, calm way about him, and in the end I believe he dies as the greatest Jedi. In Episode IV: A New Hope during the lightsaber duel with Darth Vader he let's Darth strike him down, and in turn becomes more powerful to the rebel alliance through Luke Skywalker.
