There is an option to boot off of a "recovery partition" on almost all recent computers (last couple of years). It involves holding down something, probably F2 or F12, when booting up (the exact key will either display right when you turn it on or be written in your manual - or you can search for your computer model on the Internet). Once you have the recovery partition, it will give you the option to erase your regular drive and start over.
Be mindful though that forensic analyzers and companies that do data recovery can still get to your files, if someone actually sends the drive to them. If this isn't important, the recovery partition deletes everything for all practical purposes. (On the other hand, remember that you will delete all your files when you do this.)

BACK UP tinker - that means save everything you can think of- before you redo the computer. Reinstalling Windows will ERASE everything you have ok? Your computer will then run beautifully, but you better save your files, photos, IM archive etc first or you can kiss them goodbye.
If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, ask a very cute nerd to help you ;) It's not for beginners.

Grab your system restore CD (or in the cases of some newer computers access the recovery partition) and format the drive and reinstall the operating system. Then if you have to reinstall drivers you should also have the disc for that.

A lot of computers come with a System Restore CD. By installing this cd (reboot the computer with this CD in your CDROM drive) your computer will be defaulted back to manufacturer condition.
If they don't have a restore CD, a reinstallation of the operating system (reboot the computer with the CD in your CDROM drive) will also wipe your computer clean and install the basic operating system with nothing else on it.

Reformat the hard drive. The instructions will depend on the type of computer you have ... PC or MAC ... and what type of operating system you're running. If you're unfamiliar with reformatting your computer, do not attempt to do it yourself. It'd be worth the money to have a computer store do it for you. It'll run about $50 - $150. Good luck.

You will have to reformat and reinstall windows, or you can use a system restore cd if it came with your computer. Please be advised this is a technical process and all data will be lost if it is not backed up properly. You might want to consult a professional.
