I am planning on making a home studio to produce and record my hip hop music. I however do not know much about the things i need. Can someone help me out with what i will need to produce beats to mixing, editing, recording vocals, and finally producing a CD ?

I'm not into your type of music, but I can suggest a few tools that might help you become a 'mix-master'.

If you have an Apple computer store in your town, check out their "GarageBand" program.
There are lots of sound loops that you can point-click-and drag to create countless rhythms, beats, mixes, etc.
It blows my mind what I've been doing with it.
Plus, I recently bought an inexpensive USB-connected keyboard and can play along, creating my own songs with the pre-programed sounds.

Also, there are a number of USB-connected mic cables that will allow you to add vocals.

You ABSOLUTELY MUST check this out.
Hope this helps you and good luck in your jammin'!
