In the past few months all I see are cardinals. I have never seen so many cross my path before. Does anyone know of a symbolic meaning of these birds

According to folk lore and old wives' tales (at least here in the South), cardinals crossing our path is good luck but when a cardinal keeps staying at your window, "attacking" himself (because he thinks it's another male threatening his territory) it means there will be a death in the household within a year. I had one at my window for 3 months and it nearly drove us crazy. I don't understand how he didn't batter his brains out. Anyway, two years have passed, but no household members have passed, thank goodness. So much for tales!

I always heard it meant that it would be a prosporus year.
Of good fortune...Wealth to those in the path.
There is a christmas story out there from long ago, that I remember my grandfather telling me. I can not remember the title or the author...unfortunately, but the cardinal is a winter bird
ie...christmas....thus it being a christmas story.
The beginning of a new year should a cardinal cross your path it will be prosperous.

It means that there are a lot of cardinals in your area.

You may want to consider the idea that cardinals are your totem (animal guide).

For one thing, you are a self-starter. Yo don't need outside motivation to accomplish things and you are in charge of your life. Period. YOu are able to take direct action in dealing with everyday problems. On the downside, you can be very obnoxious, reckless and arrogant when you think you're right. Because of the T-cross in angular houses, this is very important. The APEX planet is Mercury in 10th and this planet will act like a kind of nozzle or focal point for the expression of the energies that the T-CROSS embodies. The opposition Jupiter/Saturn/Neptune will find their focus in Mercury. Note that your opposing planet will require compromise of the conflicting forces, but in this case the compromise usually comes in the area concerned with your 10th, career, reputation etc... It is here that you need compromise. Now, Saturn, Neptune is in 1st with Mercury in 10th. Your opposition Jupiter / Saturn signals a type of personality conflicting between yourself and the partner. You won't sense this opposition in terms of a direct personality conflict so much as a threat to 10th house activities (like reputation, profession activity), or even as a threat to your reputation. And, as the result, you may attempt to solve it in 10th house terms, too. like working less time at the office, having it out with that parent, or giving in to the partner in order to protect his public reputation. Mercury in 10th house is the midpoint between your opposing planets. It will become a focal point for the interaction of the opposiing energies. You sense the conflict through the lens of Mercury. That would mean that you have a highly INQUISITIVE nature and an insatiable CURIOSITY about everything, often childlike or naïve in your approach to life’s problems With Mercury as Apex, the solution to the problem must be rational and explainable in practical terms, though it may be somewhat naïve, too. Another interesting thing happens when a transit or progression comes within about 1 deg of opposing the APEX planet Mercury. The opposing planet, transit or progression, acts temporarily upon you as if you suddenly have walked into a fog bank and lost the way. Don't get upset. It's only temporary and you may feel you have lost the path. But, when the opposition passes, you find it again. Aries
