I work for a Weight Loss Surgery Progam but I'm an Outside employee, I was hired by Spectracell Laboratories. I feel like because I don't work for WLS, they people who do work for WLS treat me different. For ex: When I started, I needed supplies such as paper, pen, sticky notes etc. they told me because I don't actuall work for WLS I have to get them from my company which is in Houston, I live in Dallas. We are also moving this Friday to a new location, the manager here took everybody on the job except me to go see the new building, I don't even know how to get there. The only reason I stay here is because it's a good cause for the research that I'm doing and I get paid really well...and I also don't want to cause any commotion with my company and WLS because we can lose them as a sponser. What should I do?

Most people feel threatened by outside resources. They feel insecure in their jobs. Don't let them get to you. Bond with others who are in your same category. You'll always have a job but WLS employees will be long gone before you. Also casually mention to your own company that they are refusing you basic supplies. This may be in the contract. Also buy them yourself and submit the receipts to your company for a refund and if they don't do it just claim it at the end of the year. Don't let a bunch of morons get you down.

You have made connections. Contacts. There may be a non-compete clause on you. Could you do something allied to this cause yourself? What is stopping you from learning about something better while you do this job? All the while, pursuiing other avenues of survival. The first level of any activity is always the self sufficient means first, then you have the foundation and platform to do other higher and meaningful things...otherwise, you are giving freely of your own deficit and poverty, and that usually makes a deep sucking sound when you talk that a more alert person can and will hear.

I do not think you are that, however, you are assuming that you will or won't be working further, for what it is, you are working...now, the issue is exactly for whom? Again, the answer is first yourself and frankly, you have been seemingly unemployed in the self-work department. Not to worry, but at any time, your having or not having a job, if it is in the hands of someone else--this is the first problem....where is your backup? what else are you doing? where is your networking and large area community with which you are always keeping abreast of?

You are where you are because of you, what you do...it is the action that makes the difference...of course, there has to be some thought, analysis and considerations...but you have to take directed and focused action on your life..not your job...you are in good company with many other people on this matter, so you are normal....NORMAL WILL MAKE YOU SOMEONE ELSE'S PUPPET...if you are not careful...that is your choice....it is always your choice.

So the answer is not what you should do about this matter. It is about what you need to do for your own self preservation first and having a foundation of self support so that frankly, your ordinary life can have the extraordinary things in it you dream were there. Stand up and on your own merits, your own integrity and take personal responsibility for your own life's affairs, without emotionalizing it, without making it something it is not. Imagine that you are two people: (1) who you are now and (2) a person who comes along and has all the answers and actions to resolve your worst situation...that second person is to be said to have an objective--unattached approach to your "problem"...therefore neither the "problem" or the outcome can affect this second person...still, the second person can act independently from the more reactive first person. If you were person #2, what would you do? Then, what stops you from being that person altogether anyway. Do you like turmoil and stress? You create that...either as a subjective or reactive state of approach. The pointing finger of blame needs to be cut off period...what you need to only focus on is how can I make "THIS" work...and then, you do it. Bar None!

Maybe you should ask about switching over to working directly for the company. If you cannot do that try telling the employees that hey you do the same stuff they do and the company you work for is combined with theres. Tell them that you do not appreciate their rude attitudes. They probably think its cute now but once you put on in there place they will be nice.

well it sounds like you have made up your mind already. if the job means something to you try talking to tour superviser about it maybe your company can make a comment to wls without getting you involved if this is short term i say suck it up and just get through it if this is longterm and you dont do anything you will go mad.
