yes , atleast it will increase the percentage that the winner is from Africa.
it is not denied though that it won't be easy but look at Egypt , for example, it won the CAF. The team has alot of brilliant players like: Mido.......and they need the chance to play and experience a worlwide event like this so i think the answer would b YES!!

No.... rather it would kill the competition. Let the best be found.. and then let the best go for glory.

Africa has 5 teams being represented.... too bad Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco South Africa and Cameroon couldn't make it, but they should have played better to qualify.

It being hard to get to the world cup is what is holding up its prestige!

So far the way the African teams have played (apart from Angola) show that they deserve to be here.

Go africa.

It would give more teams a chance but then the current teams must be the best 5 out of Africa.

5 teams from Africa are allowed to qualify now that could be increased but I wouldn't say more teams needed to be allowed to qualify because African teams are becoming harder to beat and they're up and coming on the world football stage.

Don't underestimate African teams you do so at you peril.

No, because it's supposed that only the best teams from Africa comes to the world cup, if you send more teams, you'll send more bad teams from the same continent.

And if you send only the best one, that team still has to play against the best teams in the world, against which ones Africa has no chances; at least not yet!

No, I think the current qualification system ensures the best African teams qualify (ie those with the best chance of winning), or at the very the least, the form teams of Africa.

Increasing the number of places available wouldn't add to the quality of African sides in the tournament, just the number, so assuming each side has a fixed and independent probability of winning, there'd be no difference.

(Although if we throw in random chance, yes - a higher proportion of African sides would increase the statistical probability of one of them winning!)

I thought Ivory Coast were fantastic by the way, I think they can do really well!

That all depends on the players. Europe's teams have had more years to practice and become super teams. But if someone with real talent comes along from a new team they could win. Ya never know.

4 out of the 5 African teams are making their debut in this tournament and so far the teams that have lost are the ones making their first appearance Tunisia will probably win because they will face Saudi Arabia.

Not necessarily. And if you give Africa more places, who loses them? You think Europe is going to give up spots, or CONMEBOL? You really can't take any from Asia or North America.

Sure, anything can happen. Look at the Euro Cup. Greece won. Imagine that. Strange things do happen.

they have 4 already. give them 31 places and one place for brazil and they still wouldn't win. and why do they deserve more places? it's football is not of the same quality or pedigree as south america or europe.
