You can do one of two things:

One, uninstall Yahoo Messenger.

OR

Two, while running YM, go to Messenger - Preferences. In Preferences, under the General category, uncheck the box that says "automatically start Yahoo Messenger" under the heading "when I start up my computer".

You dont need to remove y-messenger from the task bar. All you need to login to Yahoo messenger, then click on 'Messenger' in the task bar, then scroll to 'preferences' chose 'general' then untick the box under 'automatically start yahoo messenger' seen under 'when I start my computer'.

i'm uncertain you will get rid of it out of your job bar, till you click to cut back it. to achieve this, circulate to recommendations below YMessenger. below the universal Tab, suitable below the place it says "whilst i'm utilising Yahoo Messenger" you will see a choce that declares "get rid of the taskbar button as quickly as I cut back the main window". positioned a verify mark on that and click "prepare" and then "ok".
