I do know it's not sitting in a box on a shelf marked " evidence" for many and many of years.

Sorry to say, THEY do not burn the drugs, If they did that everybody in the world would be smelling the gases off of these drugs and be walking around STONED out of their minds.

some is destroyed. some is used for stings to catch other drug dealers. Some is put back on the street to rival dealers. some is sold by corrupt cops. there is no single answer.

In fact it does sit on a shelf for years. The drugs are only destroyed once the case has been adjudicated. They they're usually incinerated.

Just imagine if you were on the jury in a drug case and the defense wanted to do an independent test of the drugs. The police say "oops, the evidence has been destroyed". You're response?

Many times, seized money and drugs are used to expense other busts, or used as props to emulate that of a dealer. This is normally done under the watchful eye of someone in senior management.

YES, the drugs ARE usually incinerated after the trials. Incineration does not mean a big weed bonfire, it means instant destruction in a blast furnace. The money goes into the municipality coffers.

Even though it has never been proven, I'm guessing that it is used to fund some of the clandestine projects the govt has brewing so the Senate Budget and Oversight commitees don't have any way of knowing whats going on

Seized drugs are used in court for evidence, then destroyed, usually by burning. Seized money is also used for evidence then it is used for funding for training agents, equpment, and providing other resources for law enforcement.

The money is kept, cars are kept or sold and drugs are kept as evidence until some cop steals it and sells them or uses them.

the money is kept to pay for upgrades to computers, cars, etc. the drugs are burned at temps over 2000 degrees. at that temp there is nothing for you to get high from. its not like burning pot in a fireplace at home. its a lot hotter.
