To each their own....but many people don't like the way the panty lines make your rear end look. I think it looks much nicer and when their is a smooth shape and no bulges from the extra material.

Only people with mucky minds assume that because you cannot see it, it isn't there. Most people prefer smooth, clean lines of clothing- bunched up pants don't look sexy, they make you look scruffy (like a wrongly buttoned blouse). We avoid VPL to look SMART and classy- I don't WANT to show my underwear in the street, therefore I hide my bra using appropriate straps, don't have my trousers lo-slung showing a string, and avoid VPL. What kind of woman flashes her knicks at men she doesn't know? If she isn't a highly paid exotic dancer then there is no reason to.

Bedroom underwear is designed to be seen. Everyday underwear is designed for comfort and thus not aesthetic to show all the time.

When I see a woman who obviously has bunched up white polycotton knickers under her trousers, I think-
1) she bought those trousers to look one way- probably not the bumpy wonky-bum she now has
2) she looks bigger and saggier
3) no class

Sorry, but not having a VPL is to do with NOT showing your undies so strangers can either laugh or get a cheap thrill.

BTW I am British. I have no problem finding men ... strangely none have ever preferred bunched up M&S grey saggies to a nice pair of fitting, correctly sized boy shorts or a thong. You are a minority, or perhaps you should look at the kind of girl you see, look at your level of judgement, and work out why you don't get what you are looking for.

Had a rough time with an American woman lately? Sheesh. Though your assumptions about underwear and frigidity are rather foolish, my husband has echoed the thought that he likes the lines too. I think for me not wanting the lines is because I don't want just the average "man on the street-American or Brit" to be thinking about me that way.

Get off here and stop giving Brits are bad name!

Fridged? What is she, a can of Coke?

And why would you WANT a woman to wear sexy clothes in bed? I couldn't care less what she was wearing if she was in bed with me. I'd prefer nothing to be honest.

it's not that we're trying to make people think we're going "commando" - panty lines ruin the look of a nice behind, and just dig in to a larger one and make it blobby. besides, if you can't see it, it leaves a little more to the imagination.

Mmmmmm. It is my belief that it is not Lady-Like to show what underwear you are wearing....nothing to do with what you are like in the sack.
Maybe if you weren't concentrating on our asses, you would realise that you don't have to concoct these theories to find out what a womans sexual performance is like.....you may even get to sleep with one !!

you must compare the term PANTY LINE used by women with the term PLIMSOLL LINE used by ship builders, learn where to draw the line before this goes to far

disclaimer.

not all of us Brits are misogynistic fools who think everything a woman does or wears is for male gratification
