At first I would probably be in shock so it would take me a bit to get my wits about myself. The next thing I would do is ask him what brought this on and why he wanted to be single. Thinking that there was someone else in his life that he wasn't telling me about and wondering what i might have done wrong.
I probably wouldn't sign the papers too quickly, I'd get some of my representation first to check over all the paperwork. In the end though, I would sign the papers because I would rather be alone than with a man who really didn't want to be with me.
I do think that "just wanting to be single" again raises some questions that should be addressed and if he's telling the truth about just wanting to be single, I think it's pretty darn selfish of him and you're better off without him.

Don't sign. Call a lawyer. See if he will consider counseling.
If not, have your lawyer help you through the process to make sure he doesn't screw you out of what you deserve. Try to freeze any assets he might try to dump or sell. This sounds like an immature person who doens't really know what he is doing. You need a lawyer.
And find a support group - gather up those who you are closest with and see if they'll lend an ear and bring you ice cream, you are going to need your friends and loved ones around you to help you get through this!

if we were having a lot of problems and couldn't work things out then I would be hurt but I would sign then. But if it was out of the blue and just because "he wants to be single" then I would just beat his a*s and then sign then and go out and have some fun for a change, live life to its fullest! Good Luck and sorry if this happened to you.

What KB said! DON't SIGN!!!!!
If he does this "all of a sudden" he has a master plan. You are setting yourself up if you sign without legal advise.
Definately call a Lawyer! Seek a friend or a support group.

My husband wouldn't only because we have two children and he wouldn't want a second divorce. I would tell him that he's crazy to want one just to be single. I would probably want to die.

sign them and move on. i'd lose all respect for the guy who would do that though. if he wasn't man enough to bring them to me face to face, then i'd really question what kind of person he'd be when he's single again.

I WOULD ASK WHY FIRST THING, THEN DEPENDING ON HIS ANSWER WHAT I WOULD DO NEXT! PROBABLY JUST LET HIM GO IT WOULD BE HARD TO STAY IN A RELATIONSHIP LOVING A MAN THAT DIDN'T LOVE ME ANYMORE. GOOD LUCK!!!
