when its made by the prisoners for free?( are we paying the prisoners to make these plates)?

well .23 cents an hour adds up eventually, especially if your sentence is for 10 years. Prisoners shouldn't get paid anything. The prisoners should be paying us...THEIR TIME!!! But the license plates don't cost that much, I mean, even if you don't pay for the labor you still have to pay for the materials, and the machines used to produce them, and the administrative fees so that the nice lady that issues your plates get paid, and some of the funding also probably goes to fixing our roads and highways so that we're not damaging our cars in killer potholes and flattening our tires on gravel! Think about that...

Not really, do prisoners only make like .50 a day?? I believe that reason we pay for license plates is so the government can get just a little bit more money out of us.

You are not paying for the plate, you are paying for the roads you drive on.
