Remove the battery from the laptop in addition to any AC source. Use a very soft cloth with warm water and dish soap. Lightly wipe off the touch pad...let it dry for atleast 3 hours before you attempt to use it...Remember, don't soak the cloth, just lightly dampen it...

I use a gauze cloth with a light spray of glasses cleaner ON THE CLOTH. Then you clean the mouse touch pad with it. Barring that, there are a lot of neat little mouses (mice?) that you can purchase from your local computer shop that plug into your USB port. I have a mini wireless that is made by BENQ that works really well for me. You never lose the usb connector because in order to turn off the mouse you have to put the connector back inside it.

Try a cleanser like windex or lysol, etc... if that doesn't work, cover the touchpad up, disable it through the control panel (in windows) and use another pointing device like an external mouse.

Yes, most laptops have a built in firmware mouse utility program.

Try this go into your control panel:
(normal its Start>control panel)

and under control panel go into "mouse"
check all the tabs, should be a tab there that allows you to adjust the mouse senisity of your touchpad thus making it easier to move around.

Hope this helps bud.

The mousepad could have gotten sticky from being left out in a sunny spot or in a really warm and humid place. Try turning it off and unplugging it, then cleaning the pad with water and a cue tip. Don't soak it, just kinda clean it.

Get windex or some sort of cleaner thats non-abrasive and then get either tissue or a soft cloth and just clean it.

Your settings on your mouse might be making it that way too...go to START then CONTROL PANEL under Settings, and then click on MOUSE.

You can set your mouse to be a little more sensitive.
