I actually brought up that scenario once to some friends, and they thought I was daft. Since you seem to be thinking the same thing, maybe it's not such a far-fetched thing? If not George W. then his brother, Jeb? I wouldn't put it past the Republicans to do such a thing.

No, if such a cancellation took place, the speaker of the House would assume the office of President. This is because, by law, the terms of the President and Vice President ends as of noon on January 20, 2009. The speaker is the next office holder in line of succession.

Only if he overthrows the US government. According to the constitution he must leave office in January 2009. There is no emergncy that could keep him in office. The constitution make provisions to have a President appoint should the winner of the 2008 election be unable to take the oath of office.

Only if the rest of the government has been wiped out prior to the 2008 elections, and this country was under attack.
Otherwise, no, he will not be in office in February 2009.
He is an honest, law-abiding Christian, who so far has faithfully followed the law during his presidency. Leftist delusions do not count as lies or criminal acts.

Theoretically he could server beyond his term and there are provisions for this for instance. It's close to the election and there were numerous attacks such as Sept 11th and all the elected officials are hiding in bunkers until the terrorism is over or suppose all the candidates running against him were killed very close to the election. For the stability of the country until new candidates came forward and were given enough time to run a campaign Bush could stay in office. Will this or could this happen. Only if Hell freezes over.

Bush will be in the white house in 2009, just not George. As our country continues to advance our education, more people are voting republican. This will leave Jeb Bush as the only clear choice for the white House in 2008. By 2014, liberals will be on the "endangered species list" and be protected by PETA and the rest of the tree huggers, which ironically, will be the only liberals left. By 2021, when we have won the war on drugs and nobody is stoned anymore, the only liberals left will be gay. Since the gay liberals are incapable of breeding (it's genetic ya know) Liberals will be completely extinct by the end of this generation.

Nope!!
1.) It would take Congressional intervention to allow a third term.
Bush has trouble with relationship with Congress.
2.) His popularity rating has dropped WAY below what it was in 2004. He BARELY got elected then. Even if Congress allows third term, American people will probably vote him out. I STILL don't think the Democrats have a ' CAN'T LOSE' situation, tho.

No way. The hue and cry in violation of the Constitution will preclude him from continuing in office, short of a coup and declaring America a dictatorship.
