I didnt actually hear it in its entirety. I was listening to American Top 40 back in the day, and the host (Casey Casem?) mentioned a very controversial song back in the 60s which was pulled out of airplay because it allegedly caused a mental malady among its listeners. The song went like "They're coming to take me away..." and it was sang over and over again (from the small portion that I heard) but in varying pitches that went higher and higher made by some sort of voice synthesizer.

Another controversial song would be "Gloomy Sunday" which was considered a jinx song, because it allegedly brought bad luck and caused its listeners to commit suicide. It's been recorded several times by different artists, but the modern versions have been "tamed" considerably, compared to the original version which was downright "gloomy" and "jinxed."

Another I have heard of is "Marble Halls," which is alleged to be another jinx song, because it is said to bring bad luck to people who hear it.

Lastly, there was the "Devil's Trill Sonata" by violinist/composer Tartini. It's not exactly a song, but rather an instrumental composition. What made it controversial was that Tartini composed the song after having a dream of the devil as his slave, and that he had asked the devil to play on the violin the most beautiful music ever. When he awoke, Tartini wrote down what he could remember of the music in his dream.

Other "controversial" songs I can think of at the moment: "Stairway to Heaven" (Led Zeppelin); "Revolution No. 9" (The Beatles); "Another One Bites the Dust" (Queen), but they are mostly because of what the words to the music convey when backmasked. Peace.

In 1986, the song "Dear God" from the group XTC was so controversial they re-released the album without the song.

Here's a link to the lyrics:
