Yes you can. Its called "On- the-Go." Scroll onto the song, album, artist, playlist, etc. you want in your playlist, and hold down the center button. After about 3 seconds, the highlighted section will blink a couple of times. Let go of the center wheel, and then you can continue to repeat the process for whatever other music you want on it. This playlist will show up in your playlist section under "On-the-Go" mix. You can make multiple "on-the-go" mixes (otg,otg1,otg2,etc). good luck.

The only playlist you can make in your iPod is "On the Go" for the other playlists you must use the computer
