Ok. I have to use a tampon because i have swimming lessons this morning. Yesterday i used one and when i stuck the applicator in it really hurt! Is that normal for it to hurt when you stick it in?!!! also is it normal for it to hurt when you take the tampon out?!!

this is only my forth period in my life. but i'm still upset because it feels like someone is stabbing me in my vagina! it hurts so bad! please help!

Try a mini/regular size tampon for starters, and one that's is gentle glide like Playtex or Pearl by Tampax. Don't insert a tampon with a cardboard applicator, that could be causing the discomfort. Good Luck!

it is normal to hurt if you are not moist or lube. some people use gel products to ease the pain...or before you take it out..pee first...it helps a lot if the tampon is wet.

you may be swollen, if it persists, call a doctor....this is not so unusual for me though,,,i generally swell a bit during my period....
