The store is The Part Store and they screwed up the order from the beginning. We ordered part for washing machine on Saturday June 3 expecting it to be processed on Monday June5. By Tuesday I called because all it said on website they were processing it. Girl on the phone said she could not access system to look. Gave them all rest of that day to process it - NOTHING.
I sent an email Wednesday morning asking for my part and said if you don't have part cancel thepart. My husband also called that day and said to cancel it as well.
We got the part from another source.
Lo and behold on Thursday morning I get email saying my part has been shipped. Arrived on Fridayas well as the other one.
Now they say we must pay t ship it back and they will not refund our shipping cost(2nd day air although it shipped 4 days late) and the sales tax. Needless to say we are pissed. When we try to speak to a supervisor they say that is not their policy. And they never respond to emails. Any advice??

First of all, if you paid with a credit card, you can dispute the charges with your credit card company. They are very very good at that. Just call the 800 number on the card and ask for the dispute department. You will have to tell them the entire story, and they will put the money back into your account, and they will handle the talk with the company you had a problem with.

Also, you should write to the Better Business Bureau and write a letter of complain. They always look into people's problems.

That always works for me. Good luck.

First of all, YOU SHOULD HAVE REFUSED THE DELIVERY.

Your next step is to CAUSE them trouble by cancelling the order from your Credit Card. Do this immediately.

Do the math, see if it would be worth your while to SELL the other one at an online auction like eBay, Bidville.com or eptop.com

Everyone here at Yahoo Answers simply STOP BUYING from The Part Store. A company that does on-line business, should accept returns PERIOD. A good retail store does. Maybe we should go back to the MALL, where we are treated better.

Unfortunately, if they are being uncooperative, you will have to pay to ship it back. However, they should refund the original shipping as well as the sales tax. If they do not, send the part back so that they have to sign for it. Then contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. The credit company can actually refund it for you, if you can prove you sent it back, it is known as a chargeback. It is used for cases like this and other fraudulent situations.

the best you could do in this situation is to tell them if it is not refunded you will take them to small claims court however in doing so you must commit to this small claims court will probably rule in their favor as there is no record of you ever calling to cancel shippment therefore they have the upper hand truthefully its a lost cause and should be counted as a loss and a learned experience not to buy from that store again
