Yes,think about it. Independence day is about when this country fought so they did not have to answer to a monarchy government.
Independence Day is about when we made this country our own and a developed a government so that we could live in freedom. We chose our own presedent he/she is not born into that.
It's America's Birthday also you or anyone close to you would not stop celebrating you birthday. If we stopped celebrating Independence day it would be saying that we are not a country. Some how we failed along the way and we need to be under some other countrie's command. That is not what our ancestors fought for. They fought so we could live free. The men and women of today that defend our country so we can continue our freedom; would say raise the flag to the sky because we are proud. They would not stop celebrating the birth of America. It is our past and future. It is our home.

I think we should be proud to me Americans every day. But Independence Day IS still important to celebrate because it was a major turning point for our country. It was the day we broke free and became our own people. Have we been conquered since then and I missed it? Aren't we still our own country? Then Independence Day is still worth celebrating. If YOU don't think it is, move.

ARE YOU KIDDING?????
It is the best holiday! And a great way to remember that you are in a great nation and to remember what the heroes from long ago fought for. American would not be the same without Independence Day! You should celebrate that date with honor!

Did you not get a formal education or pay attention in your History classes?
Absolutely, it is worth celebrating!
It's not just a made up holiday for playing with sparklers, lighting firecrackers, and eating watermelon. I suggest going back and reviewing your American History books if you have to ask such a question.

it is now and always will be worth celebrating.
you may not always be happy with our government ,but our country that gives us the right to even ask these questions is the greatest around.
maybe you should join the brave Americans fighting for freedom and you will understand better what we as proud Americans are celebrating.
