By saying "what actually down the sensex?" you appear to be interested in downward movement of sensex, not the whole of its movements - upwards, sideways, consolidation etc.

Broadly speaking, on the face of it in relation to BSE sensex shares, excess selling over buying, bear actions/dominance and profit taking bring down the sensex. Now for each of this broad action, there could be many evident or hidden reasons; for every expert, SEBI and the government to say in public!! This may even include, as you said, oil prices, budget or even much / far more than this !!!!!!!

The more you dig the more you come to know new tricks and tactics.
